The Democratic Party, Reimagined by Young Progressives

Over the previous 4 years, progressive insurgents have defeated reasonable incumbents in Democratic primaries throughout the nation. These politicians have aggressively pursued insurance policies such because the Green New Deal and have been credited with pushing the Biden Administration’s coverage priorities to the left. Much of this work is fuelled by grassroots youth movements reminiscent of Justice Democrats and the Sunrise Movement. Some fear that the shift will alienate reasonable Democrats, and put the Party’s electoral fortunes in danger. Andrew Marantz, a New Yorker workers author, joins Dorothy Wickenden to debate the progressive motion inside the Democratic Party, and the teams which have helped it achieve traction.
