Teen music sensation Billie Eilish, who has been vocal about how her fame and body image struggles have influenced the way in which she attire, is taking a pointy flip from the clothes you’re used to seeing her in.
She needs to make it clear that it doesn’t matter what she’s carrying, she deserves respect.
Speaking to British Vogue in an interview printed Sunday, Eilish, 19, opened up about dealing with a deluge of feedback on her appears to be like as an underage teenager and why she has now determined to ditch her signature dishevelled garments.
“It made me really offended when people were like, ‘Good for her for feeling comfortable in her bigger skin,’ ” Eilish stated. “Good for me? … The more the internet and the world care about somebody that’s doing something they’re not used to, they put it on such a high pedestal that then it’s even worse.”

“Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud,” she stated. “Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you.”
To those that may criticize her resolution to combat body image by carrying a corset, Eilish didn’t maintain again in her response: “My thing is that I can do whatever I want.”
She added: “It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing … if you feel like you look good, you look good. It’s about taking that power back, showing it off and not taking advantage with it. I’m not letting myself be owned anymore.”

Six years after launching her profession at age 13, Eilish is conscious that she’s modified within the highlight. What would her youthful self suppose?
“That’s a good thing to think about in some cases, but I also think you shouldn’t try to be a person that your old self would like, and you shouldn’t try to be a person that your future self is going to be,” she stated. “You should be exactly who you feel like you are and want to be in that moment, otherwise you’re going to go insane.”
